MetaMask 0.6.1 / Getting Started
Install MetaMask
Install Cointacted MetaMask and confirm its required integrations.
- Install the current
cointacted-metamask.zippackage in WordPress. - Confirm the required integrations below are available.
- Activate Cointacted MetaMask.
- Review the plugin's WordPress administration surfaces and health notices before enabling it for users.
Verify wallet connection before wallet login
Open Cointacted → MetaMask and leave wallet login disabled for the first test. Visit the Terminal or a reviewed Connect Wallet surface in a clean browser session. The page must begin disconnected and must not request accounts until the visitor chooses Connect. Test connect, reject, account change, network change, copy address, disconnect, reload, and a second explicit connection.
The connection lifecycle belongs to Blockchain Core's shared wallet session. A connected browser wallet is not automatically linked to a WordPress account.
Wallet login setup
- Confirm SnapWeb Auth is installed and configured.
- Open Cointacted > MetaMask and enable Show Login with wallet in SnapWeb Auth.
- Link a MetaMask address to an existing WordPress user.
- Confirm the email-and-password form remains first, then test Login with wallet from the standalone SnapWeb Auth route, FluentCommunity SPA route, and Auth popup.
- On the FluentCommunity route, confirm the chooser opens immediately; the portal must include
snapweb-auth-provider.jsand the hidden MetaMask chooser mount. - While signed in, open SnapWeb Auth Account Security and verify that Connected wallet can connect, replace, copy, and unlink the address on both standalone and FluentCommunity routes.
Also test the Terminal action labelled Link with account. It should appear only in the correct signed-in, connected, unlinked state and should start a fresh server challenge. After linking, sign out completely and use Login with wallet to return to the same existing WordPress account. Finally unlink the wallet and confirm wallet login fails while the user's password login remains intact.
Wallet login never creates a new user. Registration remains entirely owned by SnapWeb Auth. No third-party project identifier is required for MetaMask; other wallet providers are installed and configured through their own provider plugins.
Requirements
Cointacted Blockchain Core is required. Wallet Session surfaces such as SnapWeb Builder's Connect Wallet component require Blockchain Core 0.16.0 or later and Cointacted MetaMask 0.6.1 or later. The adapter bundle remains lazy and requires no provider credential in SnapWeb.
Updates should be installed from a verified package while preserving the plugin slug cointacted-metamask.
