AI terminal command reference

Use AI questions, browser AI mode, context controls, diagnostics, and guarded recommendations from Social Terminal.

AI commands appear only when Social Terminal is active and the current visitor satisfies the configured AI access policy. Administrator diagnostics remain restricted even when questions are available to other users.

Ask and control AI mode

  • ai QUESTION and ask QUESTION send a question to the configured provider.
  • ai-mode shows the current browser preference and the site default.
  • ai-mode on enables AI mode for this browser. Plain input is then treated as an AI question; prefix a normal terminal command with /.
  • ai-mode off disables AI mode for this browser.
  • ai-mode reset removes the browser override and follows the site default again.
  • ai-on and ai-off are shortcuts for ai-mode on and ai-mode off.

The mode preference is a browser setting. It does not change the site-wide AI configuration or bypass the current user's access policy.

Help, context, and diagnostics

  • ai-help shows usage and privacy guidance.
  • ai-reset immediately clears the current actor's bounded, expiring conversation context.
  • ai-status shows administrator-only readiness, limits, usage, and safe recent failures.
  • ai-setup performs an administrator-only configuration dry run without contacting the provider.

Guarded recommendations

ai-run-suggested is an internal review action used by the Pro recommendation interface. Do not type it as a standalone request: it requires a pending classified suggestion. Before dispatch, the server rechecks Pro access, command visibility, capability, read-only risk, optional allowlist, and any required one-time browser approval. Missing or changed review state fails closed.
