BuddyPress & BuddyBoss 1.2.1 / Operations

BuddyPress & BuddyBoss privacy

Understand how member, group, and activity visibility is enforced.

Privacy and permissions

The adapter runs as the current WordPress user and rejects a request that attempts to supply another viewer identity. Member discovery uses BuddyPress member queries. Hidden groups are never requested; public groups are visible normally, while private or hidden group data is admitted only for a current member, moderator, or administrator.

Recent group activity is returned only after the same group membership check. The adapter exposes display names, native profile or group URLs, public activity summaries, and relative activity times; it does not expose email addresses, private profile fields, tokens, messages, or raw database records.

Site administrators remain responsible for reviewing third-party BuddyPress privacy extensions. Test with an administrator, a normal member, a non-member, and a signed-out session before publishing.
